Exim is a message transfer agent (MTA) developed at the University of Cambridge for use on Unix systems connected to the Internet. It is freely available under the terms of the GNU General Public License. With its flexibility in routing mail and extensive facilities for checking incoming mail, Exim is an excellent alternative to Sendmail.

Security Release

The current version of Exim (4.97.1) addresses the SMTP smuggling attack vulnerability. This security release assigns CVE-2023-51766 to this issue. For more information, visit the bugtracker (Bug 3063).

Note: All versions prior to 4.97.1 are now obsolete and should not be used.
