Outline Server is a self-hosted software that runs a Shadowsocks instance for each access key and provides a REST API to manage the access keys. This means that users can set up their own VPN server using Outline, giving them control over who has access to it and where it's located. The platform offers a hosted version at www.getoutline.com and also provides source code for those who want to run their own copy or contribute to development.

Blocking Resistant

Outline is designed to be resistant to various forms of blocking, including DNS, content, and IP blocking. This allows users to access the internet even when other popular VPNs are blocked or unable to connect.

Scale

The Outline Manager makes it easy to share access to your server with others, allowing you to support hundreds of users or just share access with close contacts. You can generate unique access keys and share them via email or social media.

Control

With Outline, you have control over how you access the internet. The platform allows you to decide where your server is located and who has access to it. You can also set data limits for each user accessing your server via the Client App.

Additionally, Outline consists of two products that work together: the Outline Manager, which makes it easy to create your own VPN server, and the Outline Client, a simple app that lets you share access to your VPN with others in your network.
