Product Overview

The UBOS project is an open-source initiative aimed at empowering individuals and organizations to take control of their online interactions by self-hosting software on personal servers or IoT devices. With a focus on ease of use, the project provides tools for installing, managing, and configuring various applications, such as Jenkins, Mediawiki, Owncloud, WordPress, and more, in a single command.

Main Features

The UBOS project offers three key components to make self-hosting easier:

  1. UBOS Gears: A set of tools that enables users to install, upgrade, configure, and manage self-hosted applications on various devices, from cloud servers to Raspberry Pi.
  2. UBOS Linux: A subset of Arch Linux, specifically designed for easy administration and whole-stack system upgrades, making it a reliable foundation for running UBOS-based services.
  3. UBOS Mesh (in progress): An initiative aimed at simplifying the development of software for the social web of peers.

The project's goal is to make self-hosting more accessible and user-friendly, enabling individuals and organizations to take control of their online presence and interactions without relying on centralized platforms.
