The Postfix project is a mail server that aims to provide a fast, easy-to-administer, and secure alternative to the widely-used Sendmail program. Initially developed at IBM research, Postfix was created as an alternative to Sendmail by Wietse Venema, who continues to maintain it even after eight years at Google.
