Running and Testing

Xandikos can be run in standalone mode or behind a reverse HTTP proxy. To start a test instance, use the command ./bin/ xandikos --defaults -d $HOME/dav, which will create a calendar and address book and listen on localhost:8080.

Production Setup

For production environments, Xandikos can be configured to run behind a reverse HTTP proxy like Apache or nginx. This allows for secure and scalable hosting of your calendars and contacts.

Client Integration

Xandikos supports clients that can automatically discover the calendars and address book URLs from a DAV server (if they support RFC:5397). Simply provide the base URL to Xandikos during setup, and your client will be able to access your digital life without any additional configuration.
